PRE-INSTALLATION

  • Install downstream of municipal water meter and any backflow preventer.

  • Install downstream of any fire splits. The valve should never be installed upstream of fire suppression systems.

  • Install upstream of pressure reducer, booster pump, house tanks and splits to cooling towers.

  • Do NOT use a split ring Victaulic flange.

  • WARNING: ALWAYS INSTALL A GROUNDING STRAP across the valve from pipe to pipe.

  • The Smart Valve will NOT conduct electric current and metallic pipes are sometimes used or may be used as a substitute for a Ground Fault line. If the pipe is now or could ever be used as a ground in the future, to prevent the possibility of electrocution, ALWAYS INSTALL A GROUNDING STRAP across the valve from pipe to pipe.

CALIBRATION

Adjusting the Smart Valve may be done before or after installing it. The valve comes from the factory near its lowest effect setting. Adjust the valve towards the "+" sign to receive the most benefit.

Check downstream water supply to ensure property is receiving adequate water pressure. Check toilets and urinals to make sure they are receiving adequate pressure. If the downstream water flow and/or PSI is not sufficient, use the adjustment tool to lower the spring pressure (move to "-") as required.
